Classic Ballet

Ballet requires hard work, self-discipline, strength and patience. It helps improve posture, coordination, flexibility, strength, and musicality. As the foundation of many of the dance forms we offer, Ballet is recommended as a starting point for all DDA dancers. We encourage students to take Ballet in conjunction with other styles they select.

Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises and center floor work. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.

*Speak to an instructor before enrolling in this class.

Hip-Hop focuses on street dance, music video dance, and popular dance. Dancers will build stamina while working on coordination, musicality, and style. Engaging in choreography to upbeat music help students to relax their movements and improve musicality.

Jazz is a high energy technique class. Students will improve dance vocabulary while breaking down turns, leaps, and focusing on placement. With emphasis on across the floor drills to improve technique, this class will help the student bring their dance to the next level

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre combines dance, acting, singing, and spoken dialogue. Students will learn moves to words in songs, and practice character playing to match themes. Lip-synching may be involved in some combinations, and large theatrical jazz movements and jumps will be used.

Lyrical is a mix of several dance styles. It utilizes ballet technique, jazz movement, and emotions to create a highly popular form of dance. This class is encouraged to students who wish to improve flexibility, body line, and overall performance quality.

Tap dance is a class using feet as instruments! Tapping is a great way to improve musicality and coordination while engaging one's ears to hear certain sounds. Tap dancing is a fun way to explore movements while learning the choreography and terminology of dance.

Learn the basics or work on advancing your skills in this flexible Acro class! Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. Our experienced Acro instructors will guide the class towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline, and concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, backbends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks, all appropriate to the student's individual level of experience.

This class blends elements of contemporary and modern dance, such as freedom of expression, interpretation of music, principles of fall and recovery, control, breathing, balance, and contraction/release. Teachers incorporate an eclectic blend of movement into their classes. Contemporary dance classes allow students to explore their individual dance styles outside of the structure of traditional ballet and jazz classes.

Little Toes

This fun class is designed to introduce your littlest dancers to ballet/tap and jazz/hip-hop. Music, movement, balance, and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly, and positive manner.  The dancers do not have mom, dad or another loved one by their side during the class, so this class is great for children who will be able to participate in class on their own.  Our teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along in a way that is fun, friendly, positive, and appropriate for children 3 to 5 years of age.

Toddler Twirls

In this 45 minute class, toddlers between the ages of 2 and 3 will participate in an independent class full of fun and learning. Classes will include storytime, use of interactive tools and games to help little ones engage their bodies and minds. Introduction to basic dance steps and tumbling will be included and children will have a blast in our 10-week session programs.

Mommy and Me

Our youngest ages of dancers from 1-2 years old can enjoy rhythms and movements together with a parent. Parents will help assist dancers with positioning,

sing-a-long songs/dances, and more!

Circuit Training Adult Fitness

Participants will engage the upper body, lower body, core, and cardiovascular system while completing circuits with plyometric, body weight, and weighted exercises. Every class will vary with the circuits, creating a fun, fast, and challenging workout.
